How is my handicap calculated?
We use the World Handicap System (WHS). Your handicap index is calculated by averaging the best differentials from your recent rounds (best 8 of your last 20 rounds, or best 50% if you have fewer rounds), then multiplying by 0.96.

What is a Score Differential?
Score Differential = (Gross Score - Course Rating) × 113 / Slope Rating

How many rounds do I need?
You can establish a handicap with as few as 3 rounds, but 20 rounds gives the most accurate index.

What if the course I play isn't listed?
You can add any course in Settings → Manage Courses. You'll need the course rating and slope rating, which are typically found on the scorecard or course website.

Can I play solo or do I need a group?
You can track your handicap solo! Groups are optional and let you compare scores with friends.

How do I invite friends to my group?
Share your group code found in the Groups tab. Friends enter this code to join your leaderboard.

Information We Collect

When you use Golf Tracker, we collect:

• Account Information: Email address and display name
• Golf Scores: Scores, course information, dates played
• Group Membership: Groups you create or join

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Calculate your WHS handicap index
• Display your scores and handicap to you
• Share your scores with group members (only groups you voluntarily join)
• Enable group leaderboards

Data Sharing

Your golf scores are ONLY visible to:

• You (always)
• Members of groups you choose to join

We never sell your data to third parties. We never share your email address with other users or advertisers.

Data Security

We use Supabase for secure data storage with industry-standard encryption. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all your data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Leave groups at any time
• Export your score history (contact support)

Agreement to Terms

By using Golf Tracker, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Honest Score Reporting

Golf is a game of integrity. You agree to:

• Submit accurate, honest scores
• Follow USGA rules when recording scores
• Not manipulate your handicap for unfair competitive advantage
• Report scores from actual rounds played

Acceptable Use

You agree to:

• Use the service for its intended purpose (golf handicap tracking)
• Not attempt to access other users' accounts
• Not spam, harass, or abuse other group members
• Keep your login credentials secure

Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Lazy B Studios is not liable for:

• Temporary service outages
• Data loss due to technical issues (though we maintain regular backups)
• Decisions made based on handicap calculations

Handicap Accuracy

While we follow WHS guidelines, this app is for recreational use. For official USGA handicaps, please use a USGA-licensed service.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that:

• Violate these terms
• Submit fraudulent scores
• Harass other users

Modifications

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Limitation of Liability

Golf Tracker is provided "as is" without warranties. Lazy B Studios is not liable for any damages arising from use of this service.
